EBCB Children's Ministry Vision Statement
To equip children to be well-grounded in God's Word, to build godly character, to instill the priority of the Great Commission, and to develop good spiritual disciplines, all for the Glory of God.
The following are the foundational pillars of the ministry:Authority of Scripture
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. - 2 Timothy 3:16-17, NIV
EBCB believes that the Bible is the divinely inspired word of God and therefore infallible and absolutely authoritative in all matters of faith and life. We are committed to equipping and teaching every child through a careful study of the Scriptures and "not to exceed what is written" (1 Corinthians 4:6). As a prerequisite, all teachers must fulfill a Bible Study Methodology class and faithfully serve as an intern for four months before being allowed to teach the children at EBCB.
Centrality of Christ
Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures. - Luke 24:27, NASB
The Bible's central message is that of God's redemption and salvation through Jesus Christ. Little Lamps Children Ministry seeks to make this message central to our teaching and our lives. Our desire is that we teach the children and model lives that move towards a greater progress of the gospel (Philippians 1:12).
Priority of Prayer
With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints... - Ephesians 6:18, NASB
Apart from prayer we are powerless. A believer's battle is spiritual by nature and therefore must be fought on spiritual grounds, primarily through prayer. Children will be taught to recognize that the Christian life entails boasting in our weaknesses so that the power of Christ may dwell in us (2 Corinthians 12:9). Prayer will be a regular practice and discipline of the children's ministry.
